I flew home on Thursday to spend time with my family and take a short break from my normal routine. My little sister ran for 11 miles and came home to tell me all about it. She posted it on LK and received a lot of points, high fives, and comments! It inspired me to get off the couch (which I was enjoying) and lace em' up. I've gone for plenty of runs around my neighborhood, but never have I ventured off towards my high school. One of my favorite songs blared over the one earbud that was working and I drifted off to the past. I took the same route that my high school team used to run fitness on, then I ran by my middle school soccer fields. The vague memories skipped through my head like my old cd player used to skip when we were driving on bumpy roads. I got closer to my high school and became nostalgic, then a sense of euphoria blanketed my mind. I couldn't believe the vivid memories playing back through my head. The bell ringing, saturday afternoon basketball practices, after school hang-outs in the parking lot, sneaking in the side door when I was late for homeroom, had it really been 6 years? I decided I would continue down this lane of memories and I headed towards our home soccer field. I saw the 'No Trespassing' signs but couldn't resist—I hopped over the fence and ran onto the track. I went onto the field and closed my eyes, then pretended it was Friday night, we were playing Massaponax—someone passed me the ball and I beat a defender and netted a goal to send us to the State Finals! I couldn't stop laughing, it was one of the best feelings I've had in a long time. My high school past was flooding my mind, and I loved it. I opened my eyes and realized how ridiculous I probably looked, if someone was watching—they might call the cops, so I hopped back on the track, jumped over the fence, and headed back towards my house.
It started to rain and after a few minutes it turned into a soft mist that felt incredible. I ended up running 6.5 miles, the longest I think I've ever run (besides in a soccer game). I wish I could record all those memories down, paint those pictures, and replay the memories over and over. That would be nice. So thank you LifeKraze, thanks for inspiring me to do things that I wouldn't normally do.

This is one of my favorite pictures that I've done in Chattanooga. I stopped in the middle of the road and hopped out ran across the street and pulled the trigger!
I've never seen this part of Chattanooga, but I loved it; I'll definitely be revisiting, camera in hand.
